Carl Vernon Farmer, age 70 of Wallins, passed away peacefully on Sunday October 20, 2019 at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was born on March 7, 1949 to the late Vernon and Alelfair Farmer.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Vernon Farmer and Alelfair Humfleet Farmer, his wife Hedy Collett Farmer, sisters; Althea Farmer and Sheila Adams.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children Carl Vernon Farmer Jr and wife Erica of Bardstown, KY, Bobby Daniels Jr. and wife Kathy of Pathfork, Reva Renee Howard and husband Fred of Blackmont, brothers; James G. Farmer and wife Susan of Sananjalo, TX, Jerry R Farmer and wife Brenda of Wallins, Mckinley Farmer and very beloved partner Kelly Goodin, sisters; Kathy Vanfleet of Morristown, Christine Brookes and husband Scott of Colorado Springs, CO, 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday October 24, 2019 from 5 to 7 PM in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 7 PM with the Reverend Freeman Clark officiating. Interment will be on Friday October 25, 2019 at 12 PM at Park Howard Cemetery in Wallins, to follow in procession meet at the funeral home at 11:30. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Military honors will be performed by the Harlan Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Care Navigators (Hospice).
