Mr. Charles Edward McMillen, age 57 of Harlan, passed away suddenly Tuesday October 30, 2018 at Pikeville Medical Center. Charles was born March 5, 1961 to the late Charles Richard McMillen and Esther Marie Franks McMillen. Charles has been a school bus driver for the Harlan County Board of Education for the past 18 years.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Esther McMillen, siblings: John Saylor, Eugene Saylor, Mary Ruth Napier and infant twin brothers.
He leaves to mourn his passing the love of his life Alma McMillen, children: Mindy Smith and husband Brian of Berea, Charlene Maggard and husband Larry of Harlan, Charles McMillen Jr. of Harlan, Esther McMillen and fiancé Dustin Smith of Berea, Brothers: Lester Saylor of Dalton, GA, Jack Saylor of Dalton, GA, Bob Saylor of Ages, KY and a sister Nola Marie Baker of Louisville, Grandchildren: Cory Smith, Michael Smith, Brianna Smith, Destiny Smith, Kelsey Maggard, Larry Maggard Jr, Christian Smith and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Sunday November 4, 2018 at 1 PM also in the chapel with the Reverend Darrell Turner officiating. Interment will follow in the Monte Vista Cemetery in Cumberland, KY. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
