Mrs. Emma Boggs Murphy, age 83, of Sunshine passed away November 4, 2020 at her residence with her family by her side. Mrs. Murphy was born April 4, 1937 in Pathfork, Kentucky to Ray Boggs and Cindy Turner Boggs. She was a LPN and retired from Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital and worked in the Labor and Delivery unit.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband David L Murphy Sr. Sons; David Murphy Jr, and Bobby McCown, Brother George Boggs, Burt Boggs, Sylvan Boggs, Danny Otto Duff, Stanley Boggs, Sisters: Joyce Hisel, Yvonne Haynes, great grandson Shane Donovan Day.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Timothy McCown and wife Mary of Dayhoit, Brooks McCowan and wife Sheila of Mississippi, Jerry Murphy of Colorado, Cindy Hornsby, Anjeantta Murphy and husband Ellis of Florida, Siblings: Matthew Boggs, special sister Etta Belle Boggs and special friend Lucille Derck, 12 Grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, a host of other relatives.
Visitation is Friday November 6, 2020 from 6 to 8 PM in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday November 7, 2020 at 10 AM also in the Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
