Mr. Harold "Gene" Crawford

Harold “Gene” Crawford, age 81, passed away peacefully Friday July 12, 2019 at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was born July 6, 1938 to the late Edgar Allen and Lucille Crawford. “Papaw Gene” was loved by everyone that knew him. His quick wit and sense of humor never wavered, even in his sickest days during these past few months. He loved big, with eyes full of laughter and mischief. We cherish every memory, every laugh, every hug.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents Edgar Allen Crawford and Lucille Osborne Crawford, son Charles Crawford, brothers Douglas and Glen Ray Crawford, grandson James Michael Crawford.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Elizabeth “Liz” Crawford, children: Michael Eugene Crawford and wife Terri, Anna Crawford Brackett and fiance Charlie, Brother Bob Crawford and wife Barb, sister Wanda Sue Allen, Grandchildren: Melissa Roberts and husband Paul, Paul David Brackett Jr. and wife Stephanie, Detra Brackett, Thomas Crawford and wife Rebecca, Robert Crawford, Morgan Vicars and husband Cody, Andrew Crawford, Great Grandchildren: Preslee Brackett, Logan Roberts, Charlee Vicars, Kaelyn Vicars, Austin White and Ethan Huff, Jon and Lexi Vires, host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home on Tuesday July 16, 2019 from 5-7 PM. Funeral Service will also be in the chapel at 7 PM with the Reverend Perry Long officiating. Interment will be at Resthaven Cemetery on Wednesday at 11 AM, family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
