Iva Ruth Gilbert

Iva Ruth Gilbert, age 72, of Evarts, KY passed away April 5, 2015 at the Harlan ARH. She was born January 11, 1943 in Harlan, KY to the late George and Edith Cowans. She was a housewife and believed in the Baptist faith.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James B. Gilbert, son James Pascal Gilbert, brothers Oralee, Pascal, DL , and Charles Cowans, sisters, Shirley Sue Cowans and Alma Gilbert and son-in-law, Mike King.

Survivors include her daughter, Brenda King, granddaughter, Elizabeth Herron, and great grandson, James Michael Herron all of Evarts and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 7 from 5 to 8PM at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral will be Wednesday, April 8 at 3PM in the chapel of Mount Pleasant with Rev. Bill Moore officiating. Burial will be at the Gilbert-Setser Cemetery, Red Bud, KY with friends and family serving as pallbearers.
