Mr. James Robert Hawkins

James Robert Hawkins age 62, of Tazwell, TN entered the eternal gates of Heaven on Friday May 19, 2017. He was born in Harlan KY and raised his family in Big Laurel, KY.
Robert was an extremely hard worker, he worked over 30 years as a underground coalminer. He worked 20 years after surviving a rock fall at work. In 2005 after another work injury he had to retire and became disabled. He spent time with his family and enjoyed fishing. He was a mason and a member of the Nolan Lodge in Harlan, KY. The most important was he knew Jesus as his personal savior, and is now in celebration with his loved ones that have already gone to meet the Lord.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Lana Turner Hawkins. Parents James(Jim) and Barbra Hawkins. Brother Charles Andrew (Andy) Hawkins, Father in law Stanly Turner, brother in law Randy Turner.
He will sadly be missed by his daughter Melody Hawkins, son Robert Andrew Hawkins, Granddaughter Lana Bush, Grandson’s Hayden and Lucas Hawkins, also his brother and sisters in laws Tim and Billie Hawkins, Richard and Jeanette Hawkins Ernie and Joey Hawkins, Donnie and Lisa Hawkins, Sisters and brother in laws Shirley Hill, Peggy Hawkins, Debra and Eddie Brown, Emily and Tom Turner, Becky Hawkins. Mother in law Myrtle Turner, sister in laws Ann Epperson and Abby Walker, his ex-brother in law and close friend Oscar Epperson along with many extended family and friends.
Visitation for Mr. Hawkins will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 5 PM until 7 PM with the funeral following immediately after at 7 PM in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home.
