Mr. Jerry Johnson

July 18, 1943 — April 1, 2021

Jerry Edward Johnson, age 77, passed away April 1, 2021 at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. Jerry was born July 18, 1943 to the late Clarence and Maude Defevers Johnson. He believed in Jesus Christ.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: Ed, Bud, Curt, Darrell and Joe Johnson, Sisters: Kathleen Layne, Ada Lee Price, Jewell Wooldridge, and Joy Alstott. Mr. Johnson was employed by Blue Diamond Coal Company for 17 and a half years, he was a US Army veteran having served for 12 years and he was saved on March 24, 1990.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Phillip Johnson (Candace Mandrell) of Cumberland, Kristie Mills and husband Brian Joshua of Bulls Gap, TN, Brother Harley Johnson of Cincinnati, OH, grandchildren; Kayla Noel Malone and husband Cody of Morristown, TN, Jordan Mills, Isaiah Mills, Corbin Mills, great grandchild Everleigh Rose Malone, and a host of nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his pet, Axel, his boy.
Funeral services will be on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at 1 PM in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson’s family will receive friends at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home on Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 4 PM until 8 PM. Burial will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro, Kentucky. The Harlan Honor Guard will provide Military Honors for Mr. Jerry Johnson

Due to the mandate set forth by the governor of Kentucky, attendees must wear a mask at all times, practice social distancing and only 60% of our capacity is allowed.
