Jimmy Berry Blanton, age 85 of Baxter, passed away Friday January 21, 2022 at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was born June 27, 1936 to the late Ephie and Eunice Blanton. He has owned and ran several Coal Mines and been a miner all of his life. He gave to his community. He has been Married to Arlene for 63 years, but together for 65 years, they have had a very happy full life. Arlene was the love of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Ephie Blanton and Eunice Saylor Blanton and a brother Ephie Stanley Jr.
Jimmy leaves to cherish his memory his wife Arlene Blanton, Sons Charles Robert Blanton (Heather) of Lexington, James Scott Blanton (Missy) of Baxter, Patrick Britton Blanton (Dianna) of Baxter, Lisa Blanton Parrot of Lexington, Dianna Blanton Tipton (Tony) of New Tazewell, TN, Brothers: David Deron Blanton (Renee) of Harlan, Benny Darrell Blanton (Charlene) of Coldiron, Sisters Phyllis Ann Blanton Carmical, Helen Blanton Hicks of Lexington, Grandchildren: Matthew Parrot, Drew Blanton, Justin McClure, Kimber Nolan, Spencer Nolan, Charley Blanton, Sheldon Parrot, Jessie Blanton, Kaycee Blanton, Kendyll Blanton, Kamryn Blanton, Aubrey Tipton, 6 great grandchildren and one on the way, host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home on Tuesday January 25, 2022 from 5-7 PM. Funeral service will follow at 7 PM with Reverend Arnold Martin officiating. Interment will be Wednesday at 12 PM at Resthaven Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers: Joe Shepherd, Tuck Woolum, Bob Lee, Johnny Turner, Danny Lawson, and Jay Shoffner. Military Rites will be performed at Resthaven by the Harlan Honor Guard. Family asks those that attend please wear a face covering.
