John William Brooks

John William Brooks passed away Wednesday Sept.2,2020 at 3:15, He had just celebrated his 60th birthday. He was born in Harlan Kentucky on August 17, 1960. He resided in Bethelridge, KY. John died of complications of an ongoing illness. John was a strong Christian man whom was involved with Royal Rangers for years and touched many boys’ lives. He loved his family and especially spending time with all his grandchildren. He enjoyed boating, fishing, cooking and long road trips. He worked in the coal mines until his 30s then moved on to and excel in heavy Construction. John was proceeded in death by his daughter, Johnessa and his parents Essie and Noble Brooks. He is survived by his wife Tamera Hughes and children as follows; John William Brooks (Ashley) of Richmond, Ky, Khandra Hoxit of Centralia, WA, Joshua Hoxit (Connie) of Germany, Devin Hoyt (Brandy) of Napavine Wa, Zachary Hoyt (Madelyn) of Toledo, WA And Darrell Briggs (Liz) of Richmond Ky ( like a son) ,His in laws; Paul and Janet Jensen Ryderwood, WA,12 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. John’s siblings; Noble Brooks and wife Sandra, James Junior Potter and wife Betty, Billy Joe Potter, Ann Potter Moceelme, Janice Kay Abner, Virginia Mae Fife and husband Jerry. Keeping with his wishes he was cremated and there will be no services. Mount Pleasant Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. John William Brooks.
