John Robert Stewart

John Robert Stewart, age 72, of Cawood, KY passed away April 16, 2014 at the Harlan ARH following a long illness. He was born March 19, 1942 in Harlan, KY to the late Mirld Stewart and Delilah Childers. He was a coal miner for Bow Valley Coal Co. He believed in the Church of God faith.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Charles Stewart, and sister, Beulah Couch.
He is survived by his wife, Della Mae Stewart, of Cawood; children: Robert Lee “Robbie” (Sharon) Stewart, Doug (Ruby) Stewart, Michael (Susan) Stewart, and Michael (Susan) Stewart all of Cawood; brothers: Andy Clay of Speedwell, TN, Wayne (Barbara) Stewart of Cawood, Ed (Gail) Stewart of Pineville, KY, Denver Stewart of Brownie’s Creek, and Bill Stewart of Bob’s Creek; sisters: Mary Lou Jones of Cawood, Nacoma Hunley of Brownie’s Creek, Elizabeth (Raymond) Wyatt of Tazewell, TN, Martha (Hubert) Grubbs of Cawood, Cindy (Clyde) Gaily of Cawood, and Rosie (Jamie) Wyatt of London, KY; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
Visitation will be at the Riverside Mountain Assembly, Cawood, KY Friday, April 18, 2014 from 5 to 8PM. Funeral will be Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 2PM also at the Riverside Mountain Assembly with Reverends Franklin Stewart and Spencer Burkhart officiating. Burial will be in the Stewart Family Cemetery, Cawood, KY with friends and family serving as pallbearers.
