Madison Edward Tye

Madison Edward “Ed” Tye, 78, of Harlan, KY passed away May 3, 2015 at the Veteran’s Hospital, Cooper Dr., Lexington, KY. He was born August 24, 1936 in Whitley Co., KY to the late Paul Edward and Lora Betty Alsip Tye. Ed was a beloved member of the Mount Pleasant Funeral Home family/staff for many years where he retired as a driver and attendant. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints. Ed was a veteran of the United States Army.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by daughter, Vanda Sue Tye.

Survivors include, wife Virginia Tye, of Harlan, children, Michael Edward Tye and wife, Jennifer, of Bardo, Ricky Allen Tye and wife, Lisa, of Sunshine, Regina Lynn Cooper and husband, Kevin, of Harlan, brothers Jimmy Tye and wife, Marlene, and Johnny Tye and wife, Sharron, both of Corbin, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 5 from 5 to 7pm at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral will follow at 7PM in the chapel of Mount Pleasant with Pres. Sam Gilbert officiating. Burial will be Wednesday, May 6 at 11AM at the Park Howard Cemetery, Wallins, KY with the Harlan County Honor Guard performing the presentation of the flag.
