Mary McDowell, age 79, of Harlan passed away Saturday December 25, 2021 at her residence surrounded by family. She was born May 16, 1942 to the late James and Ollie Branam. She is preceded in death by her parents James Branam and Ollie Harris Branam, brother Holbert Branam, Sister Lorrine Engle, her first husband Andrew Bailey. Mary leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband Eugene McDowell of Harlan, children Jerry Bailey (Mary) Beaver Dam, KY, Tim Bailey (Patricia) of Middlesboro, KY, Deborah Crusenberry of Harlan, Tracy Fee and Arnold of Bristol, TN, Tammy Bledsoe (Jimmy) of Harlan, Sandra Hubbard of Harlan, Crystal Michelle McDowell, Joshua Eugene McDowell, Brothers Jess Branam of Taylor, MI, James Branam (Debbie) of Cranks, sister Jewell Turner of Kingsport, TN, 26 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday December 28, 2021 from 4 to 8 Pm in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home and Wednesday December 29, 2021 from 11 Am til the funeral hour. Funeral service will also be on Wednesday in the Chapel at 1 PM with Reverends Mitchell Brock and Denver Brock officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mount Pleasant Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Mary McDowell.
