Mary Agnes Stanton

Mary Agnes Stanton, age 90, of Cawood, KY passed away December 28 at the Harlan ARH. She was born August 26, 1924 in Alabama to the late Rosman and Alice Millwood Edgil. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Cawood Church of God.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James (Jim) Stanton, brother, Bervin Edgil, sisters, Ethel Mullins, Meadie Hall, Stella Grubbs, Ella Ruth Cash, Ada, Lucy, and Ellie Edgil.
Left to mourn her passing is her children James W. (Kim) Stanton of Harlan, Kathy Shepherd of Harlan, Wanda (Jose) Abrenio of Richmond, VA, and Sharon Rowland of Lexington, KY, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She also has left behind a special granddaughter, Jennifer Shepherd and niece, Ruth Cloud, several special in-laws, Vera Whitehead, Bill Baker, Sandra Simpson, and Georgia Zuckerman.
Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 2 from 5 to 8PM at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral will follow at 8PM in the chapel of Mount Pleasant with the Rev. John Carter officiating. Burial will be Sat. Jan. 3 at 11AM at the Stanton Family Cemetery, Cawood, KY with friends and family serving as pallbearers.
