McKinley Mitchell Jr.

McKinley Mitchell, Jr. (also known as JR) age 57 of Wallins, KY passed away March 17, 2014 at the Harlan ARH. He was born June 13, 1956 in Harlan Co., KY to Emma Osborne Mitchell of Cawood, KY and the late McKinley Mitchell. He was a steel worker in Chicago, IL and an auto-body shop worker at Harold’s Body Shop. He loved to work on cars and talk to all the people that came through the body shop. What he loved more was attending church and worshipping the Lord. He attended the Cawood Church of God.
Besides his father, he is preceded in death by his son, William McKinley Mitchell; his brothers: Frank Russell, Merle, Arthur, and Jerry Wayne Mitchell.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Perkins Mitchell of Wallins, KY; his children: Tyler, Bethany, Rebecca, and Dalton Mitchell of Wallins, KY; his adopted children: Joann Mitchell and Jerry Mitchell; 6 granddaughters; his brothers: Roger of Cawood, KY, Danny of Florida, Dennis of VA and Terry Mitchell of Cawood, KY; sisters Brenda (Jim) Brackett of Keith, KY, Jolene (Sidney) Fee, and a host of nieces, nephews, and in-laws that loved him very much.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 5 to 8PM at the Cawood Church of God. Funeral will be Friday, March 21, 2014 at 12:30PM with Rev. Bryant Massingale and Rev. Tommy Vannatter officiating. Burial will be at the Mitchell Family Cemetery, Cawood, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
