Mildred Baker Wilder 96 of Bledsoe left the confines of this earth for her heavenly home on Tuesday January 13, 2021. Mildred’s life was spent first and foremost as a faithful servant to the Lord and she often spoke of hardships that she could not have endured without the Lord’s comfort and strength. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Baxter for much of her adult life. She was a loving wife, blessed mother and a cherished Grandmother who imparted wisdom that is seldom found in today’s world. She was a hard worker and was a respected employee in the kitchen at Pine Mountain Settlement School for nearly forty-years.
Mildred was born on May 3, 1924 to the union of Willie Baker and Maude Turner in Big Laurel Kentucky. She is proceeded in death by her husband John Wilder, a beloved son Forster Wilder, a beloved daughter, Evelyn Wilder Sturgill, her parents Willie and Maude Baker, siblings Dennis Baker, Bill Baker, Rastus Baker, Mabel Frederick, Otis Baker, and John Baker, cherished daughter in law Karen Wilder and son in law Andy Brown.
Left to mourn her passing are two sisters Mossie Sites and Jean Bumbough and one brother Berry Baker (Sarah) all of Pennsylvania, daughters; Thelma Leforce (George) of Stearns Ky, Etta Raines (Ray) of Fairfield Ohio, Joanne Graham (Bill) of Campton Kentucky, Brenda Brown of Panama City Florida, Son; Jimmy Wilder (Marice) of Richmond Kentucky. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren 24 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors who cherished her.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 12PM to 1PM in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home with Funeral Services beginning at 1PM. Burial will follow at Creech Cemetery in Bledsoe with Friends and Family serving as pallbearers.
Due to the mandate set forth by the governor of Kentucky, attendees must wear a mask at all times, practice social distancing and only 50% of our capacity is allowed.
