Rodney Darrell Helton

Rodney Darrell Helton, age 49, of Bledsoe, KY passed away April 4, 2015 at the Mary Breckinridge ARH, Hyden, KY. He was born Aug. 23, 1965 in Red Bird, KY to the late Ernest and Seretta Helton. He was a strip miner and re-claimer in the Harlan/Leslie Co. area. He was a member of the Bledsoe Volunteer Fire Dept.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Earl Dean Helton and brother-in-law, Kenneth Brock.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Burkhart-Helton, of Bledsoe, KY, sisters, Betty Mae (Roger) Morgan of Stinnett, KY, Jaqueline (Estill) Morgan of Beverly, KY, Sharla Diane Brock of Stoney Fork, KY, Viola Charlene (Dale) Wilson of Stoney Fork, KY, Sonya (Ronnie Sizemore) Burkhart of Bledsoe, KY, mother-in-law, Nettie Burkhart of Bledsoe, special great nephews, Kolton and Kaiden Baker, sister-in-law, Sharon Helton of Bowens Creek, KY and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday April 6 and Tuesday April 7 from 6 to 9PM at the Bledsoe Pentecostal Church. Funeral will be Wednesday April 8 at 1PM at the Bledsoe Pentecostal Church with Rev. Lonnie Napier officiating. Burial will be at the Meadow View Cemetery, Bledsoe, KY with Ernest Helton, Kenneth Brock, Darrell Helton, Allen Burkhart, Doyle Burkhart, and Wiley Collett serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Bledsoe Volunteer Fire Dept.
