Steven Gene Franks, age 66, of Harlan passed away Sept. 9, 2014 at his home. He was born Dec. 20, 1947 in Leslie Co., KY to the late Herman and Martha Couch Franks. He was a retired coal miner with Great Western and believed in the Church of God faith.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Lonzo, Clifford, Dennis, and Johnny Franks; sisters: Nancy Franks, Barbara Gray, and Mary Helen Sizemore.
He is survived by a son, Allan Michael Lenard of Church Hill, TN, brother, Paul David Franks of Indianapolis, IN, and a special nephew, Herman L.K. Smith of Harlan, KY and a host of other family and friends.
A graveside service will be held Monday, September 15 at 2PM at the Leatherwood Cemetery, Leatherwood, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
