Verna Messer age 65 of Harlan, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 28, 2020 at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was born on April 24, 1955 to Henry and Ruby Baker.
She is preceded in death by her father Henry Baker Sr.
Verna leaves to cherish her memory her Mother Ruby Baker, Son Mark Messer and wife Cindy, Daughter April Sturgill and husband David, brothers Roy Baker and Henry Baker Jr. Grandchildren; Mark Messer and wife Sacha, Lindsay Ward and husband Marshall, Brittany Messer, Justin Caldwell and wife Payton, Season Caldwell, Great Grandchildren Parker and Payton Messer, also a great grandson on the way named Hendrex, also a special friend Bonnie Byrd and a fur baby Zoey.
Family will receive friends in the Chapel off Mount Pleasant Funeral Home on Thursday July 2, 2020 from 11-1 PM with funeral service at 1 PM with Forrester Baker Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at her residence on little shepherd trail. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
