Alben Stewart

Alben "Boo" Stewart, age 71, of Harlan, Kentucky passed away August 29th, 2026, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. He was born October 15th, 1954, in Harlan, Kentucky to Richard Stewart and Wanda Hill Stewart whom both precede him in death.

Also preceding him in death is his sister, Alice Phillips; and his son in law, Ryan Geran.

Alben is survived by his wife, Imogene Stewart; one son, Winston Stewart (Jon); two daughters, Wanda Geran, and April Ackerman (Tim); one brother, Richard Stewart (Helen); five sisters, Rita Swanson, Caroline Grubbs, Elisa Miracle (Kelly), Tina Brock (Rocky), and Mary Ann Noe (Edmond);four grandchildren, Adam Blevins, Scarlett Blevins, Noah Geran, and Ava Geran; and special friend Hershel Napier. He also leaves behind his Church Family at Pace Chapel as well as a host of other family and friends that will mourn his passing.

Alben lived a full life working as a coal miner, becoming a pastor, and doing hobbies he loved such as hunting and fishing with his friends Hershel and Josh Napier. He was a husband, father, grandfather, the best big brother, friend, and most importantly the pastor of Pace Chapel.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 4th, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 5th, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Grubbs officiating. Interment will follow at the Stewart Family Cemetery in Cawood, Kentucky with friends and family serving as pallbearers.
