Betty "Elizabeth" Howard

Betty “Elizabeth” Howard, 91 of Harlan, passed away on June 2, 2025 at the Harlan Nursing Home. She was born to her biological Parents, John and Lissie Shepard on April 16, 1934 in Gulston.

Liz never met a stranger and loved to make people laugh. She was a devoted Wife and Mother and was an excellent cook. She loved the Lord and was a member of the New Hope Church of God.

Ms. Howard is preceded in death by her Parents who raised her, Ralph Sr. and Lucille Souleyret; Biological Parents, John and Lissie Shepard; Husband, Kendall Howard; Sons, Freddie Howard and Kenny Howard; Brothers and Sisters, Albert Shepard, Fieldan Hensley Shepard, Inette Shepard, Izetta Vaugh, Beatrice Thomas, Howard Shepard, Ruth Sprinkles, Billy Dan Shepard, Maxine Turner and Delzinna Belcher.

Liz is survived by her Brother, Ralph Souleyret Jr.; Grandchildren, Chad Fields, Brad Fields, Zachary Howard and Shalena Howard; Several Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Church Family and Friends will also mourn her passing.

A graveside service will be held for Ms. Howard on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 11AM at Resthaven Cemetery, Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
