Charles Spurlock, Sr., age 87, of Sunshine, KY passed away April 23, 2015 at the Harlan ARH. He was born June 8, 1927 to the late Homer and Ester Spurlock. He was a coal miner, certified welder, and construction worker. He believed in the Holiness faith.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Mary Spurlock, daughter, Janice Gwen Spurlock, grandson, Doyle Spurlock, and sisters, Louise, Georgia, and Ida Faye.
Survivors include wife, Louise Bray Spurlock of Sunshine, KY, brothers, Ed Spurlock of Bowling Green, KY and Herman Spurlock of Smith, KY, children, Charles Spurlock, Jr. and wife, Oneda, of Loyall, Claude Eugene Spurlock and wife, Sharon of Harrogate, TN, Edith Faye Spurlock and husband, Bruce of Sunshine, Kenneth Spurlock and wife, Roseanne, of Middlesboro, Travis Seals of Sunshine, Susie Hutchins of Kingsport, TN, and Janet Farmer and husband, Tim, of Rogersville, TN, 3 special granddaughters, Athena, Peyton, and Tabitha, grandsons, James, Jonathan, Justin, Travis, Jr., Michael, Gavin, and Leland, 8 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 25 from 5pm to 8pm at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral will be Sunday, April 26 at 2pm in the chapel of Mount Pleasant with the Reverends Doug and Steve Daniels officiating. Burial will be at the Browning Cemetery, Cranks, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
