Deborah Bledsoe, 64 of Harlan, passed away after a short illness on July 15, 2025 at Continue Care Hospital in Corbin. She was born to Carrol Whitaker Bledsoe and the Late Doyle Bledsoe on October 9, 1960.
Deborah started her career in mining at the young age of 18 at Eastover Mines, then she was one of the first women to work at Brookside Mines. She held many titles in her life. To name a few, Daughter, Mom, Sister, Aunt and Best friend. But her favorite was “Mammy” to her grandchildren and she loved spending time with them.
Ms. Bledsoe is preceded in death by her Grandparents, Coy and Nettie Bledsoe, L.V. and Ella Whitaker; Her Father, Doyle Bledsoe and her Brother, Coy Bledsoe.
Deborah is survived by her Mother, Carrol Bledsoe; Daughter and Best friend, Destiny Bledsoe (Lee Shuler) ; Grandchildren, Dawson, Lorenza and Giavanna; Sister, Serena Bledsoe; Niece, Tiffany Cox; Nephew, Coy Bledsoe, Jr.; Several Great Nieces, Nephews, Family and Friends will also mourn her passing.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025 from 5PM to 8PM in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday July 19, 2025 at 1PM also in the Chapel with Arnold Martin, Martin Bledsoe and Nathan Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery with Family and Friends serving as pallbearers.
