Donald "Donnie" Watkins, born March 22, 1961, from Wallins, Kentucky, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, hard work, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.
Donnie was a coal miner by trade, a profession that reflected the strength, determination, and work ethic he carried throughout his life. While he worked hard to provide for those he loved, it was his generous heart and wonderful sense of humor that people will remember most. Donnie had a special gift for making everyone around him feel loved, appreciated, and welcome. His laughter was contagious, and his kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his precious son, Gregory Watkins; his father, Roy Watkins; his mother, Opal Watkins; and his stepmother, Rosie Watkins.
Donnie leaves behind his loving wife of 38 years, Glenda Watkins, whose love and devotion were a constant source of strength throughout their years together. He is also survived by his son, Nicholas and Andrea Brock (who he considered his daughter) and his granddaughters, Aries, Kaitlyn, Abigail, and Jaina, who brought immeasurable joy and pride to his life.
Family was the cornerstone of Donnie's life. In addition to his immediate family, Donnie leaves behind countless friends and loved ones who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his siblings, including his sister Dora and his three brothers, Junior, Roger, and Mikey. Donnie also leaves behind a closely knit extended family who loved him and he loved dearly; Beatrice Brock, Opsie Whitehead, Paul and Sarah Brock, and his very special friend, Lovell Hansel, who stood by him through some of life's most difficult moments with unwavering friendship and support.
His presence, humor, and friendship will be irreplaceable to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though his family grieves his loss, they take comfort in the many memories he leaves behind, and the countless lives he touched. Donnie's legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Funeral Service: Sunday, September 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home Harlan, Kentucky
The funeral service will be officiated by Pastor James Earl Hensley, with his dear friend Denver “Bud” Brock sharing a few words in his memory.
Burial: Following the service at Park Howard Cemetery Wallins, Kentucky
