Donna Sue Carter was born on April 28th, 1959 in Harlan, KY and passed away on May 16th, 2023 in Erlanger, KY. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother and friend to many during her life and will be dearly missed. Donna was always known for her kindness and optimistic outlook on life. Her compassion and empathy touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Donna spent most of her teenage and adult years growing up in Harlan, KY. There she spent many hours supporting local art and music events. She was also an animal lover and opened up her home to unwanted animals from the Harlan County Animal Shelter for many years.

Donna had many proud accomplishments throughout her life. As an Army brat she lived all over the world and was a devoted Jehovah Witness. She was an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Harlan, KY.

Donna was preceded in death by her father Retired Master Sergeant Bobby Joe Carter and son-in-law Jesse Lewis Bunch. She is survived by her loving mother Betty Carter; sons Christian Tyler Fugate (Megan Mosley Fugate) and Houston Carter Fugate; daughters Miranda "Mandy" Blake Fugate, Samantha Drew Fugate, Jennifer Leigh Ann Williams Fugate; sisters Deborah Kaye Carter Bunch, Pamela Joyce Carter Price and Rebecca Dawn Bunch along with their children Kaleb, Steven and Joshua.

Additionally Donna will be remembered fondly by Robert Lewis Bunch along with his children Angel Bunch and Kyle Jasinski; Jessica Renee Bunch Herndon (William Kevin Herndon) along with their children Kaylee, William & Leslie as well as grandchildren Christian Lee Williams, Houston Alen Williams (who helped his grandmother), Josie Kordenbrock (fathered by Brandon Kordenbrock), Mackenzie Eversole, and Carter Fugate. Donna is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Donna Sue Carter will be forever remembered for her compassion and empathy towards others. Her kind spirit and loving heart touched the lives of countless individuals throughout her life. She was a light in this world and her presence will be missed but her memories will forever live on in those who loved her.
