Gary Cloud

Gary Wayne Cloud 70 formerly of Grays Knob, KY passed away peacefully in his sleep Tuesday October 14, 2025, at the Harlan Health and Rehabilitation Center in Harlan, KY. Gary was born May 05, 1955, in Harlan, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Fulston Cloud and Sarah Emiline Thacker Cloud. Sister Patsy Cloud Doan, and brother Robert Kenneth Cloud. Nephews Johnny Ray Cloud, and Steven Woodard. A niece Sabrina Hensley. Brother in laws Danny Woodard, and David F. Smiddy Sr.

He is survived by four sisters, Debbie Woodard, Harlan, KY, Brenda Smiddy, Meadow Brooke Estates, Harlan, KY, Peggy Greene (Joe), Meadow Brooke Estates, Harlan, Ky, and Judy Hensley (David), New Tazwell, TN. Nieces, Stephanie Armstrong (Chance), Robin Delph (Chris), She-ra Bennett (Devin), Tina Doan Lowe (Jerome), Misty Doan Henderson (Antwan), Elaine Frankie Cloud, and Sherry Hensley. Nephews, David F. Smiddy Jr. (Nicky), Christopher R. Smiddy, Rev. Eric Greene (Hannah), Rev. Bryan Greene (Autumn), and David Hensley (Lisa).

Gary loved all animals and any outdoor activities. He also had a green thumb and could plant any type of plant or seed, and it would grow. Gary was also a licensed certified nursing assistant who had previously worked at the Harlan Health and Rehabilitation Center in the earlier part of his life. Gary continued his love for learning when he became a CNA teaching assistant at the Harlan Health and Rehabilitation Center as a resident while at the facility.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Harlan Health and Rehabilitation Center for the attentive care Gary received during his stay. The family would also like to thank Dr. Marlowe for his compassion and empathetic resolve during his care for Gary, it was very much appreciated.

There will be no services per Gary’s wishes.
