Helen Victoria Eldridge Saylor, 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at her home in Coldiron, KY. She was surrounded by her loving children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Vickie joins her husband of 65 years, Delbert Stallard Saylor; father, Milton T. Eldridge; mother, Lana (Redmond) Eldridge; brothers, J.C. Redmond, Raymond Harvey (Colleen) Eldridge and Hubert Eldridge, and a sister, Ora Lee (Freeman) Saylor, in Heaven to be forever with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Vickie was born at home in Molus, KY on October 26, 1942. She was a wonderful, faithful wife and mother who loved gardening and cooking for her family. You could not visit her home without being offered something to eat. Vickie believed in the Pentecostal Faith and was an active member of the House of Mercy Pentecostal Church. She raised her children to love and serve God. Even though Alzheimer's may have taken her memories, it could not take her love for her children and the love she had for her Savior, Jesus Christ. Vickie's advice to you today would be, "Just pray".
Vickie leaves behind to mourn her passing, but rejoicing in her reward, her daughters, Darlene Saylor Roberts (Jeff), Gearldean Saylor Joseph (Hiram), Lana Christine Saylor Hurley (Eddie), Patricia Ann Saylor Meeks (George), Amy Victoria Saylor Cottrell (Billy) and one son, Delbert Dewayne Saylor (Laurie); also surviving are 16 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, special sisters-in-law Dorothy Eldridge and Minnie Redmond, and a special brother-in-law Harvey Saylor. She also leaves behind a host of well-loved nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
The family will receive friends at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 3, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral services will follow in the chapel at 7:00 PM with pastors Darlene Roberts, Carl Eldridge, and Greg Abraham officiating. Interment will follow on Thursday, January 4, 2023, at noon at Resthaven Cemetery, with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
