Mrs. Irene Farley, born September 9, 1952, in Harlan, Kentucky, passed away on July 9, 2026, at the Harlan ARH Hospital. Irene was the daughter of Carlo and Flora Burns, both of whom preceded her in death. She was well loved by the Bledsoe community, and loved her family and grandkids with all of her heart.
Irene was known as the life of the party. She never met a stranger. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. Irene loved to play cards with her family and friends. Her infectious smile and laughter could brighten anyone's day. She loved the Lord with her whole heart and believed in the Pentecostal Faith attending Bledsoe Pentecostal Church.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by the love of her life, William Hennison Farley, six brothers and sisters, Frankie Burns Asher, Nancy Sue Burns Hensley, Fayetta Burns, Carlo Burns Jr., Reva Mae Burns, and Billy Ray Burns.
She is survived by her son Frank Farley and wife, Tina, daughter Rita "Bug" Karen Farley, two sisters, Norma Jean "Tootie" Patterson, and Rachel Burns Miniard, seven grandchildren, Cody Allen Farley (Katherine), Anthony Glenn Farley (Brittany), William Trey Farley (Ashley), Lola Minutillo (Rick), Ethan Caldwell (Mashawna), Emilee Caldwell, and Eian "Cooter" Caldwell, eight great grandchildren, Jerra Lynn Farley, Caleb Allen Farley, Landon Anthony Farley, Caiden James Farley, Ellanor Grace Farley, Josephine Kate Farley, Logan Minutillo, and Rachael Minutillo as well as several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 5PM until 8PM in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at 1PM at the Bledsoe Pentecostal Church with Perry Long, Doug Grills, Travis Gross, and Blake Turner officiating. Internment will follow at the Burns Cemetery in Bledsoe with her grandchildren (Cody, Trey, Anthony, Eian, Ethan, and Logan) serving as pallbearers.
