James Darrell "J.D." Napier

James Darrell Napier (J.D.), 75 of Bledsoe, KY, passed away in his home with his loving family by his side on July 6, 2025. He was born to the late James E. Napier and Opal Lee Napier on August 20, 1949.

J.D. was of the Pentecostal faith and a faithful member of the Mozelle Church of God and Bledsoe Pentecostal. J.D. was known for making the world's largest Anvil weighing 6500 Ibs. and the local Blacksmith of Bledsoe. He was a man of many talents known for crafting handmade, wooden dough bowls, spoons, ladles, scoops, and more. He was known for his expertise in craftsmanship and forging out more saw-blade garden hoes than most could only dream. He also worked for many years bull dozing and as a security guard.

He was a loyal husband to his Wife, Cletties Marie Napier for 41 years. a faithful father to his children, and loved his grandchildren with all of his heart. J.D. was a friend to many all over the world.

J.D. Napier is preceded in death by his parents; Brother-in-laws, Jimmy Napier, Bobby Lewis, George Couch, and Clay Tolliver, who were more like brothers to him.

J.D. is survived by his Children, Timothy Wayne Tolliver of Bledsoe, Darla and Husband Brandon Shepherd of Bledsoe and Susie and Husband Mark Lawson of TN; Grandchildren, Kimberly Tolliver, Brock Middleton and Wife Nebraska, Gavin Lawson, Jax Shepherd and Jonah Lawson; Three special great-grandchildren, Mileigh, Bentley and Teagan; Brothers, Alonzo "Lonnie" and Wife JoAnn Napier, Jerry and Wife Glenna Napier of Bledsoe; Sisters, Helen Couch of Cicero, Indiana, Deb Lewis of Ewing, Virginia, Linda Bates and Husband Harold of London and Ruth Turner of Bledsoe; Many nieces, nephews, family and friends also survive.

Visitation for J.D. Napier will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 3PM until 5PM in the Mount Pleasant Funeral Home Chapel with the Funeral Service following at 5PM until 6PM. Pastor Justin Collett will be officiating.

Interment will follow at the Napier Cemetery in Bledsoe, KY with honorary pallbearers, Tim Tolliver, Brandon Shepherd, Mark Lawson, Jax Shepherd, Jonah Lawson, David Brock, Travis Turner and Erin McQueen.

The family expresses their deep gratitude to his Bluegrass Care Navigator team members: Regina Hatfield, Alli Simpson, Lisa Perry, Kristin Sizemore and many other angels that contributed to his excellent care.
