James "Jim" Halcomb

James “Jim” Halcomb, 75 of Coldiron, passed away on January 19, 2023 at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was born on February 23, 1947 to the late Monroe and Carrie Holbrook Halcomb. Jim was a Teacher, Guidance Counselor, Drug Coordinator and Principal at several schools for 27 years. He enjoyed spending time with his Friends and fellow Gun traders at McDonalds. Jim attended the Wallins Baptist Church.

Mr. Halcomb is preceded in death by his Parents; Brothers, Rubin, Roland, Verlin, Bobby, Teddy, Covie and Hubert; Sisters, Ruby Briley, Edith Petros, Beulah Halcomb and Margie Halcomb.

Jim is survived by his loving Wife of 53 years, Brenda Gross Halcomb; Daughter, Anjanette Halcomb; Son, David Halcomb and Wife Jackie; Granddaughter, Aaris Halcomb; Sister, Susie Oliver and Husband Jack; Brother, Buster Halcomb and Wife Julia; Grandpups, Bentley and Brandi.

Visitation will be Monday January 23, 2023 from 11AM to 1PM in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral home. Funeral Services will begin at 1PM with Freeman Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
