Jerry Wayne Dixon, 70, of Sunshine, KY passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the Hazard ARH in Hazard, KY. He was born December 24, 1944 in Harlan Co., KY. He was a retired roof bolter for New Horizon Coal Company. He believed in the Church of God faith.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Grant and Lydia Clark Dixon and his wife Sharon “Sue” Dixon.

Survivors include three children: Jerry Dixon (Diane Sargent) of Knoxville, TN. Margaret Fortney (Justin) of NC, Tracy Dixon (Lauren Stepp) of Sukey Ridge, KY; grandchildren: Cody Lyttle, Connor Dixon, and Chloe Dixon; brothers and sisters: Ken Dixon and James Dixon both of Harlan, Bud Dixon of Sunshine, KY, Clyde Dixon of Sawbriar, KY, Josie “Boots” Branson of FL, .Joyce Saylor of Wallins Creek, KY, Lynn Osborne of Sunshine, KY and Wanda Dixon of Knoxville, TN. A host of other family and friends also survive.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 1 from 3 to 7PM at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday February 1, 2015 at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Monday February 2 at 11AM at Resthaven Cemetery in Keith, KY.
