Joanna Patterson

Joanna Patterson, age 82, of Sulphur, KY passed away peacefully on September 16th, 2026 and went home to be with her Lord and Savior. Born on December 12th, 1943, in Harlan, KY. Joanna was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, who touched the lives of everyone around her.

She will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, sense of humor, and the endless love she had for her family. Joanna is survived by her son Charles Patterson Jr. (Yvette), her daughter Annette Skidmore (Melvin), her son Shane Patterson (Amanda), seventeen grand children, many great grand-children, her sister Elizabeth, her brother Victor and her dearest friend Pat Powell. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Patterson Sr., her son Johnny Patterson, her grandson Joshua Patterson, her sister Christine Johnson, and her sister Helen Bennet.

Family and Friends are invited to celebrate Joanna’s life at Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home on September 19th, 2026, visitation will be held from 11am-1pm, followed by the funeral service and graveside service. The service will be officiated by Pastor Mike Frey of Hopewell Baptist Church.

Though Joanna may no longer be with us, the memories and love she left behind will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She is now resting peacefully in the arms of her Savior and reunited with those who went home to be with the Lord before her.
