LaVerne left the local area at a young age moving to Chicago, IL where she would spend most of her life. She graduated from Kelly High School in 1969. She worked many jobs which included waitressing and working for the famous Brach’s Candy Company. “Sissy” the name given to her by her older and younger siblings and to which most of us called her, had several interests. She loved to shop , which meant if she needed 1- she bought 3. She loved to travel , often bringing several of us family members on her international trips to see the world. Cooking- she was simply one of the best cooks we know. Making the most delicious Thanksgiving meals you will have ever enjoyed, Staying in contact with old and new friends by spending hours just talking on the phone. She loved to garden, entertaining family and friends, and drinking red wine and champagne. LaVerne’s greatest passion though was for her beloved Dogs. Sissy was the proud owner of 3 Australian Shepherds named Zoe, Bleu and Bella who she loved like they were her babies.

LaVerne is preceded in death by her Mother, Lena Shepherd Wilson Howe; Father, Eli Wilson; Siblings, Howard Wilson, Evelyn Gayle Wilson , Jeffrey Wilson, Scott Howe and Nephew, Sean Novarro.
