Lissie Daniels

Mrs. Lissie Daniels, age 96, of Cawood, KY, entered her Heavenly Home on January 14, 2023, surrounded by her family. Born on July 6, 1926, to the late Lloyd Smith and Gillie Fee, Mrs. Daniels was a homemaker and loved the Lord and reading her Bible. She was a strong-willed, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who would do anything for her family. Mrs. Daniels loved to cook and can and spent many years making beautiful quilts for the ones she loved.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Daniels was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Daniels. Children; Barbara Jean, Loretta, Norman, and Billy; son-in-law Bill Engle; sisters; Arie Smith and Fanny Smith, brothers; Robert Smith, Bill Smith, Curt Smith, and George Smith and grandsons Mike Burke and Vince McComb.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, James Daniels and Linda, Dennis Daniels and Melissa, Tim Daniels and Fern, Linda Sawicki and Ed, Wilma Burke and Ray, Donna Clem and Jim, Patty Hatmaker and Chuck, brother; Lawrence Smith, sister; Patty Eldridge and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, families, and friends also survive.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 16, 2023, from 2 PM until 4 PM in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. The funeral follows at 4 PM with Pastor Sean Daniels and Pastor Robbie Grubbs officiating. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 12 PM noon at the Britton Cemetery in Smith, KY, with grandchildren serving as pallbearers.

The Ladies of the Grays Knob Church of God will be providing a meal for the family and friends after the service at the Grays Knob Church of God. The Ladies of the Harlan Mission Outreach will be providing a meal for the family at the residence of Mrs. Daniels.
