Lorraine Browning, age 81 of Bledsoe, KY was ushered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her loving husband of 61 years Asbel Browning Friday morning December 7, 2018 at the Tri-City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Cumberland, KY where she had been a resident for several months.
Lorraine was a retired cook and cafeteria manager at the Pine Mountain Settlement School where she worked for over 35 years. She had been a member of the Big Laurel Baptist Church for over 45 years being song leader for many years. She loved cooking and taking care of her family, more than anything other than serving her Lord.
Besides her husband Asbel she is also preceded in death by her parents Leo and Jennie Hendrix Madden, her sisters Christine (Aaron) Browning, Eileen (Jim) Browning, Opal (Gary) Martin and brothers Wilmer (Connie) Madden, and John Anderson-J.A. Madden.
She leaves to mourn her passing her son Reverend Donald R. (Crystal) Browning and daughter Jennie Lynn Browning, Grandsons Steven Joshua Lester and Delbert Gibson and granddaughter Ciara Browning. She is also survived by a brother Elmer (Helen) Madden of Hyden, KY and a sister Evelyn (Bill) York of Connersville, IN. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, three of whom she loved as her own Betty (Terry) Gentry, Peggy (Ralph) McQuinn and Marty (Melody) Browning of Indiana.
She had many, many friends that she loved dearly and was loved by so many. The family want to Thank the Staff of Tri-City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for taking such good care of Lorraine and all the Love they showed her. We will never forget you all.
Visitation will be in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home on Tuesday December 11, 2018 from 5-9 PM. Funeral Service will be on Wednesday December 12, 2018 at 11 AM with the Reverend Bobby Boggs officiating. Interment will follow in the Browning Family Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
