Patricia "Cricket" Thompson, born on May 6, 1957, in Harlan, Kentucky, departed this life on August 7, 2025, at St. Joseph Hospital in London, Kentucky. She was a beloved member of her community and cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Cricket was a dedicated professional, having graduated with a Licensed Practical Nursing degree. She proudly served as an LPN at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital, where her compassionate nature and unwavering commitment to patient care made a lasting impact on those she cared for. Her warmth and kindness were not only evident in her work but also in her personal life.
Cricket's greatest joys were found in her family. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Brad Thompson, and a proud mother to her son, Michael Sizemore, and daughter-in-law, Jackie. Her love extended deeply into her role as a grandmother, where she nurtured and cherished her grandchildren: Landon Sizemore, Logan Sizemore, Toni Colvin, and Madison Moore. Additionally, her heart overflowed with love for her two great-grandchildren, who brought her immense happiness.
Cricket was known for her vivacious personality and her ability to bring people together. She had an unwavering love for her fur baby, Sissy, and a passion for creating lasting memories with her family and friends. She held close relationships with her brother, Mitchell Downs and his wife, Donna; her sister, Cathy Downs; and her sister-in-law, Lemma Downs.
Cricket is preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Barbara Brackett Downs, as well as her brothers, Mike and Johnny Downs. Their memories will forever be cherished by those left behind.
