Sergeant (SGT) Roger Dellno Bargo, age 27, of Richmond, Ky, passed away on August 10, 2026, at UK Hospital in Lexington, Ky. Born July 9, 1999 in Fort Riley, Kansas. Roger graduated from Madison Central High School in 2017 and earned his associate's degree in applied science at Bluegrass community technical college in 2023. Roger also achieved a Bachelor of Science with Western Kentucky University in 2025.
A proud soldier, Roger enlisted in the Army National Guard on January 24, 2018. His career has been marked by dedicated service as a Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic across various units within Kentucky. SGT Bargo's assignments include serving as a Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic with the 617th Military Police Company in Richmond, Ky, and the 307th Support Maintenance Company in Central City, Ky, and the 103rd Brigade Support Battalion in Harrodsburg, Ky. SGT Bargo completed a tour with the 617th Military Police Company in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Border Mission from January 2020 - February 2021. SGT Bargo's awards and decorations include the Army Good Conduct Medal, the Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal (2nd award), the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with 'M' device, and the Army Service Ribbon.
Roger Bargo, a beloved husband, friend, and community member, passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and unwavering generosity. Known for his steady presence and his willingness to help anyone in need, Roger touched the lives of many throughout the years. He approached life with humility and a quiet strength, valuing family above all else. Roger's warm smile, sense of humor, and steady guidance will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Whether he was sharing stories, lending a hand, or simply offering support, he made others feel valued and cared for.
Roger was a loving son, grandson and brother survived by his wife, Brianna May; mother Rosemary Bargo; brother, Roderick Bargo. He is also survived by grandmothers Linda Poff Bargo and Loreta Villaluz; close cousins Sheryl Villaluz, John Patrick and many more; cousins Josh Hatfield, Holly and Carlie; special friend Jaqueline Slayton and many more.
Roger is preceded in death by his father Troy Dell Bargo; and grandfathers Ernesto Villaluz and Roger Dell Bargo.
Visitation and funeral with full military honors will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home, 122 N Cumberland Ave, Harlan, Ky, 40831. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held immediately after starting at 2:00 PM followed by interment at Day Jackson Cemetery. Flowers and memorial contributions may be sent to Mount Pleasant Funeral Home.
