Sherman “Squirrel Hunter” Ward, age 66, of Harlan went to be in peace with his Lord on Friday May 5, 2017 surrounded by his family. Sherman was born on April 3, 1951 to the late Herbert and Bertha Ward. Sherman was the Assistant Pastor of the House of Prayer in Jesus Name in High Splint, KY.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Amos Allen Ward. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Jessie Ward, children: Melissa Lee Carter and husband Ronnie of Dryden, VA, Mark Anthony Ward and wife Tammy of Harlan, Matthew Ellis Ward and Aprille of Harlan, Marshall Edward Ward and wife Lesley of Harlan. Siblings: Kenneth Ray and wife Brenda of Harlan and Julian Jones of Covington, KY. Grandchildren: Jeremy, Jordan, Jessica, Brooke, Mark Jr., Sherman, Marshall Jr., Brendle, Kiersten, Courtney, Keyaria, Kadin, Mattilynn and Kolden Great Grandchildren: Jace, Jade, Paisley, Noah and Conner. He also leaves to mourn his passing a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews and many people he called friends. He never met a stranger…
Visitation will be Sunday May 7, 2017 in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home from 5-9pm. Funeral Service will be on Monday May 8, 2017 at the House of Prayer in Jesus Name in High Splint at 11 Am with Pastor Bruce Helton officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Keith, KY
