Vedia Collins

Vedia Collins, 85, of Cawood passed away August 7, 2026 at her home with her family by her side. Vedia was a homemaker and a Christian who loved the Lord for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hiram and Annie Brewer; Her husband whom she loved and missed everyday The Reverend Billy Collins; three brothers, Harold, Wilburn, and Marvin Brewer; one sister, Nellie Napier; and one grandson, Billy Osborne.

She is survived by three children, Sandy and Sonny Ray of Cawood, Ky, Steve and Patricia Collins of Stanford, Ky, and Ann Collins of Georgia; two sisters, Loretta Couch of Kildav, Ky, and Kathy Brewer of Kildav Ky; eight grandchildren, as well as great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; special friends Frances Partin, Kathy Jenkins, Jack Thompson who brought her meal everyday from the center; Bert and Chass Bumgardner, and Chris and Leighanna Hampton who was there everyday; Dr Sharon Colton who was so good to her as well as Alli and Shayla from Hospice.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 11th, 2026 from 11:00am until 2:00pm in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm with Rev. Chris Hampton and Rev. Josh Doyle officiating. Internment will follow at Day-Jackson Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
