Walter Perkins, Sr., age 76, of Harlan passed away September 14, 2026, at the Harlan ARH. He was born August 4, 1950, in Harlan Kentucky to the late Claude and Wilma Shephard Perkins. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a preacher and loved to fish, play cards and enjoyed driving.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene, son, Walter Perkins, Jr., daughters, Michelle Baker and husband, Pearl, Renee Hammonds and wife, Becky, and Wilma Gregg, sister Ada Logan Perkins, grandchildren, Karrie Gregg, Briona Gregg, Michael Billings, Brandon Creech, Tiffany Allen, Christian Halcomb, and Dylan Begley, great granddaughter, Briella Creech.

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 17, from 5PM to 8PM at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral will be Friday, September 18 at 1PM in the chapel of Mount Pleasant with Chris Hampton officiating. Burial will be at the Wells Family Cemetery, Flat Lick, Knox County, Kentucky with Brandon Creech, James Michael Billings, James Hammonds, Henry Hammonds, Becky Hammonds and Josh Thomas serving as Pallbearers.
